Carolyn was 53 when she passed away on July 13, 2002, after a lengthy illness. She was survived by her husband Bob, her five children: Barbara, Debara, Bobby,Tommy, and Shannon, her ten grandchildren, her brothers James and Richard Lazenby, her four aunts, and her loving and devoted friends, Chris and Kay Chalos. Carolyn is buried in Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Goochland County, VA.

Carolyn was a next door neighbor for a while and we were childhood friends. Once I got chewing gum really stuck in my long straight hair and was afraid of what my dad would do when he saw it. She helped me by cutting the gum out, in a perfect inverted U ; the problem was my hair was otherwise a perfectly straight, chin length blunt cut. Like, did we think no one would notice???? She was one of my first best friends.How did we lose contact?
