Sandra Tilley Mann

MANN, Sandra Tilley, of Stuart, Fla., was gently coaxed into heaven on the promise the grandkids would one day follow, December 13, 2011. Born in Winston-Salem, N.C., March 16, 1947, the family moved to Richmond, Va., in 1952, where Sandra attended Tucker High School, was involved with her kids at Tuckahoe Middle and Freeman High School, and earned her RN at JSR. She relocated to Florida to be near her beloved grandchildren, and worked in nursing homes and agencies where she is remembered for her silly jokes, songs and hijinks. Ms. Mann is survived by her son, Lance Hargrove (Amy) of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; son, Jay Mann (Christie) of Stuart, Fla.; daughter, Jennifer Mann of Richmond, Va.; sister, Sally Stalnaker of Akron, Ohio; sister, Mary Highsmith of Charlotte, N.C.; sister, Beth Alley (Gene); niece, Debbie Alley; niece, Lori Lamb (Mike) of Richmond, Va.; grandson, Jasper Mann; and granddaughters, Lenora and Sadie Mann, and Sky and Hope Hargrove. Always ready for beach trips, festivals and fairs, North Carolina family gatherings, and winning at cards, she held on for three years after a massive heart attack. She truly loved unconditionally and was always just herself. A memorial life celebration will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 7809 Woodman Road, on Friday, March 16, at 3 p.m. Her favorite foods, Bill's barbecue and fried chicken, will be part of a light supper at church. All are invited. Contributions may be made to the Autism Society Treasure Coast Chapter, 3253 Southeast Bonita St., Stuart, Fla. 34997.
