Obituary
Jack Earl Sturdy Passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025, of natural causes. He was 77 years old.
Jack was born on November 16, 1947, to Earl and Flora Mae Sturdy in Pocatello, ID. The family moved here in 1958-59 when his dad got a job at China Lake. Jack graduated from Burroughs High School. Jack was in the Army and went to Vietnam June 1968 to June 1970. Jack is a decorated Vietnam Vet with a Bronze Star Medal with a “V” for Valor in ground combat. He worked at the Louisiana Pacific Sawmill pulling chain for 10 years. He was a fireman at China Lake. He retired from the Marine Warfare Training Center Fire Department as a Fireman/Engineer. Jack enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, riding his motorcycle, quads, basketball, playing horseshoes, and reading.
Jack was Preceded in death by his parents Earl and Flora Mae Sturdy, his daughter Kathleen Sturdy and Jack’s ex-wife Helen Sturdy and the mother of his children. Jack is survived by his wife, Cheryl Sturdy and his son James Sturdy and wife Sheena, brother James Sturdy wife Suzie, David Bitkowski and wife Mirela, Jennifer Morgan and husband Daniel Patterson, grandchildren: Alissa Sturdy, Angelina Sturdy, Chad Sturdy, Dezaray Morgan, Domenic Morgan, Dustin Morgan, James Patterson.
A funeral will be held at Seven Day Adventist Church at 555 W Las Flores Ave, Ridgecrest, CA February 8, 2025, at 2:00PM gravesite services following at Desert Memorial Park, 801 San Bernardino Blvd, Ridgecrest, CA.
