Hey Class of 1999. Can you believe that it is already time for our 10 year reunion? Thanks Eman for setting up this website. Any ideas or dates for our reunion?

Wow, I feel old. Can't believe it has been 10 years. How about something in August, or maybe close to Thanksgiving in November? At least in November, we know a lot of people will already have plans to be home for the holiday.

I like your idea Jessica, we could have a picnic or something fun during the summer and bring our families then have a night or weekend in the fall, and have a nice dinner and dance/DJ. Any other ideas anyone?

These are great ideas! I like the idea of a Summer event and a Fall event. I have heard of other schools meeting in the Fall (going to a high school football game, banquet etc).

It is hard to believe that almost 10 years ago we all were in the Magna Vista gym in our cap and gowns. I do want to say thank you to Emanuel for setting up the website and for trying to get in contact with everyone. I personally would be open for summer and fall. If we do a football game, I would wonder about trying to go for the Martinsville/Magna Vista Game. I also like the idea of the dinner and dancing. Would the Dutch Inn be able to hold everyone or even doing it at Magna Vista be possible?

Going to a MV football game together and then something afterwards would be fun! I am up for anything, I cant wait to see everyone. I know alot of my friends reunions in this area have consisted of Friday night dinner/drinks/adult only and then Saturday day family event/picnic/kids. Thanks Eman for getting this started!!!

I can't believe it is here already, but I am going to be so happy to get to see everyone again.I think this is what I need to be reunited with my school friends. After all we spent a long part of our lives with each other in school and after school events. I am available anytime and would love to help plan as much as I can.I myself have returned back to school, but I would drop anything to see everyone again.I feel like there will be some tears that night.Everyone has changed so much,I just hope that we can get in touch with the missing classmates.I like Tracy Oliver Sims idea about Friday adult night and Saturday being a family and friends event.I would like to see everyone's children if they have children

I would love to get a group picture of all of us now.A picture of the girls and a picture of the men.I believe that would be great for us to have to look back on.

Yea right Dara i will come if i can lol but no pictures. No way! Where would we go to if we hung out that friday night? Theres no good places in martinsville.

First off, I would like to thank Emanuel for making it easier for us all to get together. I know I haven't really seen any of you in a long time. And by going off your profiles I can tell that you all still seem pretty awesome and done some pretty cool stuff.
Now as far as the planning goes, I'm up for anything! I would just be happy to see everyone again. I did however like the idea Tracie had. (The adult's night out.) And I also agree that if it is decided that we do the football game, it should be a MV/ Martinsville game. After all they were our rivals.

Great ideas everybody. I'm leaning towards the summer idea, it would be nice to be able to have a fun outdoor event for people to bring their whole families on Saturday and have the adults gathering on Friday. You're right Robert, not many places to gather in Martinsville, but I bet we could do the Dutch Inn. They have big banquet rooms. My husband's reunion (even though he didn't get to go) was at Bassett Country Club and they had plenty of room there.

I am sure that Dutch Inn would be able to do it.(it wont really matter where we go...it will just be fun to have everyone in one place) If we can get it narrowed down to a time, I would be happy to make some phone calls to check on pricing and such. I hosted a bridal luncheon at Dutch Inn and it turned out very nice, food was great and staff helpful.

Jess,The only problem with an outdoor event for Saturday is that we'd need a backup plan in case of bad weather. But I am all for outdoors, it seems there will be alot of kids and its harder to do that indoors!!
Possibly at a park?

I do like the football idea too! :-) I havent been to a game in ages!

IM EXCITED!!

I am loving these ideas! The Ridgeway Rescue Squad has a fenced in park/playground area. They also have a building that is used for showers and parties-it is very nice and fairly new. I can make the call and try to reserve the building if we decide to do that. It would be great because you have indoors and a large outdoor area.
I know that the class of 1997 did a dinner at Dutch Inn. It was fairly inexpensive and nice.
I'm excited about seeing everyone. Let's go ahead and set an August date so we can start planning!
