Well 80 now. Two more granchildren. Declan 3 1/2 and the happiest girl ever, Cara Grace born on Christmas day 2019. They join Connor, Captain Jack (USMC), Owen (grad. Summs Cum Laude), Andrew, and Tommy. An amazing family that gets together as often as possible.
Barbara has an inner ear disease the limits us quite a bit. I am well and keeping busy in Wyckoff NJ. I do a lot of work around our church including all the chain saw needs for the cemetery and a garden I established to provide fresh produce for Jennifers charity.. After 30 years of second homes in Vermont and Cape Cod the house in Dorset sold.First time in 34 years with one home, Time to keep moving on though. I am lokking for new ways to serve . Barb and I celebrated 57 years in May. Hard to believe. Stop in Glen Rock often (until Covid 19 showed up. Hunkered down for the duration. Still staying safe until we can be vaccinated. Our grandson Jack is now in Saudi Arabia working. Fortunately Zoom keeps the whole family connected regularly. Church also uses Zoom for services and prayer and bible study. We adapt, even at 80.
Well now its 85 and Barbara and I just celebrated 62 years of marriage.
My last project was to cut a large cedar tree and with hand tools only (adz , drawknife, and saw I created the cross that stands by our Sanctuary. One of these days I will be keeping it company. No rush !

What Primary School did you attend before RHS?

Glen Rock

It was the best time of my life next to college years and rooming with John Mcrae at Delta Phi. Now that was an experience!!!

What's your least favorite memory of RHS?

Getting caught cheating by Miss Joslin in Latin.

High points of your life since high school?

Travelling a bit on business in europe, mid east, africa and the americas. Being a bit of a maverick in business and being able to sustain a great family that contiues to grow and care for one another.
Maintaining a sense of humor during my business career despite working for the French.

Biggest thing you would do differently if you went back to our time at RHS?

Study and play a sport rather than working at Perry's Florist

Do you still see/talk to/hang out with any classmates? Who?

John Mcrae, Bugsy Rockwell, Gordon Stanley, jack Joffee., Jodi K.

What did you always want to do that you haven't done yet?

Learn to FLY!

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I oversee a garden at church that provides fresh produce for Oasis a charity my daughter runs in Paterson. . Chainsaw work for anyone needing it, or not.

Read a lot. I joined a group of men studying the bible and love that.

What is the dumbest thing you ever did and don't mind sharing?

Jumping on the back of a Sherman tank when the 90 mm gun fired.
Been partially deaf ever since. But these new $5 grand hearing aids do help. Or is selective hearing as Barbara says.
Stopped wearing the hearing aids since most of my friends all speak ;oudly enough.

Name something you love?

Well my pal, Cooper, had to be put to sleep last year.

The Hollow in Dorset, Vermont

If you could build a second home anywhere, where would it be?

Done that once, plus renovated three old, old houses.

How do you see yourself in 10 years?

Well I still feel better now than I did at 40.
So at 80 I am truly blessed with good health. Whatever comes in the next few years will come. I am not fearful of death, just hope it is peaceful. Then there is eternity.

When was the last time you belly laughed?

Thanksgiving when Tommy (7) started a Nerf gun war and all 14 of us joined in.
Barbara and I each received Nerf guns for Christmas (2015).

The newest grandchildren 4 and 1 often cause laughter .

After reading Rich's last comment I recxalled that Robin and I won first place for our painting on the window of Dominics shop repair shop. It was a giant halloween pumpkin. We were very fortunate to have grown up with friends like Robin. So we celebrate his life with so many of our classmates.

Happy New Year 2025 ! Did we ever think about being around so long ? I stop in at the Glen Rock Inn once or twice a month to catch up on what is happenig. As far as I know Bonnie VanHeest is living in assisted living near the shore and Bob Cheshire has passed. I still stay in touch with John Mcrae and hope to get back to our fraternity ,Delta Phi ,in the spring. My entire family including 7 grand cholidren all live close by so Barbara and I are truly blessed.

I met Bonnie in third grade. She was always a joy to be around. Bonnie had a fruitful life and I am sure her family celebrates a life well lived.

I remember Val and Carol from Junior High School, particularly the "canteens". A few years ago Val texted me that she had played a "trick"on me at one of them. She never did say what it was. I often rode my bicycle over to their house on summer days and would be welcomed with a popsicle from their freezer. Wonderful memories of a diferent time.
