You know I hear now-a-days they do that stuff electronically! I can only imagine what I put on mine!! I bet it had something to do with an old can from swaims, probably spam!!

I don't remember doing it at all. Was it in a class? Did we each put something in individually? I can't believe I wouldn't remember doing this. By the way I know I've already said this to specific persons but this is a really impressive site and thank you for setting it up!

My prayers go out to Jimmy Mcllroy's family and to those of you who remained close to him. I saw his picture in the obituaries today. I remember him as an easy going guy that talked to anyone. I hate to say I haven't talked to him since school though. Also I heard Arthur Marple passed away too several years ago. Do any of you guys have any info on that??

Wow, I just read the post about Jimmy and ran for the paper. Does anyone know what happend? He was very easy going and always had a kind word for everyone. It's difficult to deal with people from our own class passing... On a happier note, this website is GREAT!! I am really looking forward to seeing everyone next month!

That is very sad about Jimmy McIlroy. I am not sure what happened.

Ok, about the time capsule...supposedly we did this our Freshman year of High School just before school started. I have no idea who the teacher was and don't know where we buried it...if it was even buried. I am on a wild goose chase...thanks for your help though.

Hey guys, I found out from my brother that Jimmy's passing was from suicide. I am unsure if this is true, but at the same time lets keep his family in our prayers. He had 3 children and was expecting another, from what the obituaries said.

On another note I have a spirit stick from a pep rally would ya'll like me to bring this to the reunion? If not I'm probably gonna trash it.

Erin Connor (Cano)

Yes, please bring the spirit stick! We will have a memorabilia table with tons of memories! Thanks!

Misty - Our senior class sponsors were: Nicole Holsinger, Nancy Crossley, Melinda Maynard, Megayla O'Rear (Nicole Branca-Pugh knows how to get in contact with her I think), Monica Cole and Tracy Bose. Good Luck! It might just be lost in time forever! :)

This time capsule...did everyone in our Freshman class participate? Was it at Fish Camp (remember those 3 fun filled days?)? I truly do not remember this; but that was 14 years ago!

Danielle West (Cervantez)

NO, DO NOT TRASH THE SPIRIT STICK!!!

06/21/08 01:02 AM #20

Tony Briseno

Are you talking about the "nacho ordinary" fish camp or was that one for other freshman that Amber Smith put on??

06/21/08 01:43 AM #21

Danielle West (Cervantez)

I believe that camp might have been for another class. I think our freshman class was the first to have Fish Camp; it was something the school was trying out, but it stuck. Remember we had pizza one day and then a scavenger hunt and on the last day a pep rally? Am I the only one who remembers this??

06/21/08 07:49 PM #22

Nicole Pugh (Branca)

I remember Fish Camp, but mostly I just remember being totally overwhelmed and the scavenger hunt.

David - you so have to bring the spirit stick! We will add it to the memorabilia we are getting together. How did you end up with one?

06/21/08 07:56 PM #23

Nicole Pugh (Branca)

Apparently Tony is correct - Art Marple did pass away a few years ago in a fire.

I got it at the last pep rally our senior year. The football team won it and I ended up with it. I will not trash it, I will bring it to the reunion. However I am not taking it back home, I've held on to it for 10years so someone else can hold on to it till the next one.

06/22/08 11:12 AM #25

Christy Hayes (Leonard)

Wow. We should definitely recognize Art Marple at our reunion.

Yes, I believe the capsule was done during out 'Fish Camp'. However, if anyone remembers anything about it let me know. I read that story about Art Marple...very sad (RIP).

Hey guys all this talk about memories of fish camp and time capsules just has me realizing that I don't remember any of that stuff. Were we required to go to this fish camp?
The only things I really remember from freshman year are all band related. I guess I was so obsessed with making sure I stepped off on the left foot and remembering the notes to Grandioso that everything else is just a distant memory.

Danielle West (Cervantez)

Again, I do not remember the time capsule, but I still remember Fish Camp; pizza in the library, scavenger hunt through the school, the "class" about what high school was all about (our goals, etc...), the pep rally....I wonder why I'm blocking out this time capsule thing?!? Freshman year really sticks out in my mind, I guess, because of all the changes that came with it.

I do remember filling those out at fish camp. I think we were down in the basement when we filled them out, or at least our group was. I remember our group leader was Tara Parham, she had me from hello and she didn't even know it!! She wouldn't care if she knew but whatever thats beside the point. Anyway they are probably still there balancing the tables out or they got used for scratch paper.

06/27/08 01:28 AM #30

Danielle West (Cervantez)

I think I still have the "goals" paper that I filled out at camp. I save stupid stuff like that. And I'm pretty sure Tara P. had a lot of you guys at hello!

Amber Smith (Weaver)

Thank you to those who put this site together! :) Pretty cool...
