Beloved Riverside teacher for over 50 years, died in her sleep January 1, 2011, in San Diego, California. she was a popular and admired language teacher at Ramona HIgh School with a special love for Latin, French and ancient history. The Latin club, which she founded, was famous for its yearly Latin Banquet. She spoke 6 languages. Known for her love of travel, she brought students with her to over 40 countries. She shared her passion for teaching with her husband, Allan J Orrenmaa, who preceded her in death in 1965. A teacher and principal, Orrenmaa Elementary School is named in his honor. For 45 years she has continue to award a scholarship in his name to Alvord district seniors.
Graveside service to be held Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Olivewood Cemetary.
