Frederick died of a heart attack. Born in Oak Park, Illinois, lived in Riverside for 39 years. He graduated from Ramona High School in 1961 and reveied a bachelor's degree in social studies from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in 1973.
He worked for C&R Trailer Sales in Rubidoux. Previously he was an elementary school teacher. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for more than four years and was discharged as a sergeant. He enjoyed bowling and bicycling. He was a member of Palm Baptist Church.
