I so loved Allyson. We were friends from jr. high on, and we were roommates our first two years of college. When she died of brain cancer some years ago, I was so upset that I couldn't even drive to the funeral in Ovieda. Her husband, Dave, later came to Sarasota and we had dinner and reminisced (he always claimed that my changing seats with Allyson at convocation, an awful once a week thing we had at Fl Southern, where we had to sit and listen to speakers, was the way he really got to know her). Anyway, several memories include skipping school and skiing, watching "The Birds" and then being afraid to walk home, and the time that Allyson colored my hair and most of it fell out!
She was a happy and wonderful wife and mother, a really creative and talented person, and I'm so glad that I got to renew our friendship in the last year or so before she passed away.
