JOURNELL Cherron Lynn Cherron Lynn Journell, 49, of Starlite Drive, Christiansburg, departed this life Saturday morning, July 26, 2014, at Radford Health and Rehab Center in Radford after a hard-fought battle with cancer. She was born January 24, 1965, in Pearisburg and was a 1983 graduate of Cave Spring High School in Roanoke. She had been employed with AIG Insurance as their auditor for Southwest Virginia. She was preceded in death by her sister, Karen E. Journell; and her uncles, Henry E. and David Journell. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Halen R. Journell, of Christiansburg; her father and stepmother, Harvey Ray and Barbara Ann Journell, of Christiansburg; her brothers, Jeffrey R. Journell, of Martinsville, and Marvin L. Journell, of Carrboro, N.C.; her uncles, Thomas W. Gautier, of Narrows, James M. Gautier, of Narrows, Jerry R. Gautier, of Pembroke, Richard A. Gautier, of Pearisburg, and J B Journell, of Narrows; her aunts, Frances G. Epling, of Pearisburg, Janice G. Collins, of Shawsville, Joyce G. Kiger, of Pearisburg, Vickie M. McCroskey, of Pembroke, Carolyn G. Atkins, of Pearisburg, and Mildred E Morris, of Baltimore, MD. Memorial services will be conducted 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2014, in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow Street, Pembroke, with Pastors Shahn Wilburn and Eddie Kendall officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Good Samaritan Hospice, New River Valley, to honor their excellent and compassionate care of Cherron. I'm so sorry to hear that Cherron lost her fight. Most of my memories go back to Hidden Valley
and watching her act like a "spaz" in gym class. She was a good hearted person and will be greatly missed. RIP.
