My dear friend Belinda...the daughter of a Methodist minister...she was SO full of life. Taken so young...doing what she loved to do! Biking along the California Highways!!! I was shocked to hear the news that sad day!! She always brought electricity into the room no matter where she was! I remember so clearly my 16th birthday...my Mom had made a Rum Cake that year...she ate two large pieces. She laughed and said she was afraid her father might think she had been drinking!!! She got me a larger than life Jim Palmer poster with just his underwear on....she thought it was great!!!! Belinda always had such great energy!! What a wonderful person she was....NEVER have I forgotten that sweet young, ball of energy!!!! My parents and I talk about her often and tell stories of her....she is forever in my heart!!! Memories engraved forever!!!
She passed away in 1985. We were excited that I was transferring to Radford and she was at VT. She was in CA on a long distance cycling trip...her last day there when she had her accident.

Belinda and I had sooo much fun together our senior year, and for a couple years afterward. We both were into psychology, she was majoring in clinical and was looking forward to being a psychotherapist. We'd visit each other at school, I remember an especially fun Halloween party we went to when she was at Randolph-Macon Women's College. After she transferred to Va Tech, we'd have a blast in Blacksburg. We talked about writing psych books together once we both finished grad school. In high school, we used to drive up on the parkway, usually with party favors :-) and explore, laugh and just talk about life. She was one of my best friends and her passing really jolted me. But, as they say, at least she died doing something she loved. I think of her often and miss her wonderful, fiery and fun spirit.

Oh dear Belinda. What a wonderful crazy teammate she was. I so enjoyed playing volleyball with her during our days at CS. I have great memories of coming down from Mary Washington to Randy-Mac for a party. We had a great time (from what I remember)! She was a ray of sunshine and I know she is still shining up in the heavens!Margo Crews Underwood

Belinda was a great inspiration. I loved being around her. She's one of the few people in school who left a great impression in me and whose name I'll never forget.
