George Lee Stamback, 41, of Roanoke County, died Tuesday, March 14, 2006. George was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Harrison Stamback; and his father, LeRoy Stamback. Surviving are his mother, Angie B. Stamback of Boones Mill; his sisters, Pat Blevins and husband, G.R. Blevins, Rosa D. Weeks, all of Roanoke; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

George was a loving son and brother who will be deeply missed by his family and friends. A funeral service will be held at Oakeys Roanoke Chapel, Thursday, March 16, 2006 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Eric Spano officiating. Interment in Franklin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Building Fund or Clearbrook Rescue Squad. The family will receive friends Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Oakeys Roanoke Chapel.
