Janet Francine Kinzie Hotinger passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024, peacefully at home with family at age 66.

A Roanoke native, Janet graduated from Northside High School and Virginia Western Community College, excelling in both institutions. Upon graduation, Janet joined Blue Cross Blue Shield of Southwestern Virginia (now Anthem), remaining there her entire career in progressively higher professional positions.

Throughout her life, Janet was active in church and raising her son, considering him the singular achievement of her life.

Janet is survived by her husband, Harvey; son, Jacob and wife, Emily; her mother, Velma Kinzie; sister, Wanda Patterson and brother-in-law, Russell; aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; and an amazing circle of friends and colleagues from living a full and blessed life.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Oakey's North Chapel with the family receiving friends beginning at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park with a brief graveside message following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Carilion Clinic Hospice.
