On October 30, 2021, Yvonne Cecile Lusk O’Brien passed away peacefully at her home in Daleville, VA. She was born on January 11, 1958 in Williamson, WV, and relocated to Roanoke, VA in 1967 with her family. Yvonne, known as Cissy to her family, graduated from Northside High School and was in the first graduating class of Registered Nurses from Moberly Area Junior College in Moberly, Missouri. She served as an RN in Missouri, Florida and Virginia, retiring from Lewis Gale Medical Center.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her father, Morris Y. Lusk, and her mother Evelyn Nelson Lusk. She is survived by her husband, Timothy C. O’Brien, brothers Morris (Jerry) Lusk and Tom N. Lusk, niece Kimberly Lusk Moore (Charles), nephews Robert M. Lusk (Lisa), Thomas N. Lusk II (Samantha), Ryan J. Lusk and Brandon Q. Lusk (Alyssa), two great-nephews, eight great-nieces, and special friend Janet Hackward. Yvonne is also survived by her fur babies Rowdy, Lucy, Bonnie, and Shadow, to which she was devoted.

Her family will receive friends on Saturday, November 13, 2021, 2:00 pm at Oakey’s North Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Diabetes Association or your local animal rescue.
