YOUNG, Susan Hale, 40, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord Saturday, June 12, 1999. She was a 1979 Magna Cum Laude graduate of Lynchburg College and was employed by Dominion Bankshares for 11 years. She was currently employed with Kuhns Brothers Log Homes. Susan was an active member of First Baptist Church where she was the director of the Junior Generation Choir and participated in many of the children's ministries. She was also a member of the Greater Roanoke Home Educators Association. Surviving are her husband, Wally Young; sons, Taylor Madison Young, Kyle Nicholas Young, both of the home; father and mother, John and Bettie Hale, Roanoke; sister, Linda Woods and husband, Chad, Roanoke; brother, Wes Hale, Kingsport, Tenn.; mother-in-law, Alice Young, Rocky Mount; sisters-in-law, Jeanie Tosh and husband, Phil, Roanoke and Dorene Perdue and husband, Bobby, Rocky Mount. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Acts 2 Ministry c / o First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 2799 Roanoke, Va. 24001-2799. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, 1999 at First Baptist Church by Dr. Charles G. Fuller, the Rev. Charles H. Ward, and the Rev. Charles A. Krause. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Simpson-Tharp Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road. (366-0707)
