Thomas Lee (Tom) Johnson, 69, of Vinton passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024.  He was preceded in death by his father, Basil Johnson, mother, Frances C. Johnson; sisters, Deborah S. Johnson, Emily J. Naff, and Frances Lou Johnson.

Tom had many interests and hobbies in life.  He loved enduro, golfing and tailgating at Virginia Tech football games.  His greatest love was competitive fishing.

Surviving is his wife of 43 years, Carrie Stamper Johnson; children, Trevor Johnson (Maggie) and Amber Johnson (Kevin); grandchildren, Theo Johnson, Maze Fitzgerald, Zeik Fitzgerald, and Maxwell Johnson; sister, Nancy Shaver (Dennis) and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by Pastor Wes Battle.  Entombment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends one hour and thirty minuets prior to the service.  Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home.  540 366 0707
