Ted loved being raised in Virginia, but in 1978 he moved to Texas to realize his dreams. As an architect, he fit right in with Houston's growth. As a result of his travels, he received many outstanding awards for excellence in hunting and fishing. Although the outdoors sporting activities were close to his heart, the arts were also special to him throughout his life. Ted supported and enjoyed the arts as a member of Theatre Under the Stars, the Houston Museum of Fine Arts, and the Museum of Natural Science. Other notable memberships included: Houstonian Hotel, Club, and Spa, Blackhorse Gold and Country Club and his membership at Second Baptist Church.
