Her grandchildren include; Taylor Grace and Graham Fischer, Hadley, Bronwyn Krause, Benjamin, Abigail and Mary Krause, and Elijah and Lucy Karnes. As well as many cousins.
Fran graduated from Northside High School in 1971 and then went to the University of Richmond, Westhampton College and graduated in 1975. She met Charlie in Roanoke and they were married in 1975. Fran loved hosting friends and family and owned her own business called Krause Haus, a wedding and catering company. She directed weddings, provided catering services and designed floral arrangements as well.
She was an elementary school teacher in Roanoke City Schools for many years. She later worked for the Rescue Mission of the Roanoke Valley, helping establish the first and second storefronts for the organization, Art on a Mission and Second Helpings. Her Southern hospitality rang true every year, as she enjoyed decorating to holiday themes and cooking the most lavish meals.
Fran was a true believer of her Lord and Savior and we know she is singing joyfully with all of the angels in Heaven. She was a wonderful, loving wife and mother. She will be dearly missed but we know that she is free from pain and struggle and we will all meet again one day!
The family would like to thank Dr. Paul Richards and staff at Blue Ridge Cancer Care of Roanoke for their unwavering care and support of Fran over these many years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Grandin Court Baptist Church on Saturday, March 5th at noon with Reverend Doctor Kevin Meadows officiating. The service will also be streamed online through the Grandin Court Baptist Facebook page. The family will receive friends beforehand at the church at 10 AM.
