Steven Lester Ratcliffe Obituary

Steven “Steve” Lester Ratcliffe, 71, of Roanoke passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024. He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Ratcliffe.

Steve is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Ratcliffe; daughters, Roxanne and Jennifer; grandchildren, Eric, Nirel, and James; mother, Claudine Ratcliffe; brother Thomas Ratcliffe and sister Martha Ratcliffe Walker; nieces, Arlie Rowland and Serena Ratcliffe; great nieces, Meyori and Miliani; great nephew, McCauly; stepdaughter, Rachel Miller; stepson, Daniel Miller; and close friend of 60 years, Don Mayberry.

Steve loved his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.

Steve was a fan of the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey team. He loved to bowl especially on his Monday and Thursday night leagues. He was a flea market shopper who loved a good bargain. And in his youth, he even did roller skate dancing. He played in the band during high school.

Steve loved going to Myrtle Beach. He also loved his cats, Jasper and Cheyanne.

The family will have a Chapel Service on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at 2:00pm at Simpson Funeral Home (Peters Creek). Visitation will be one hour prior, from 1:00-2:00pm.
