Mr. Dwight Shober, 67, of Roanoke, Va., died Friday, Jan. 22.
He was the husband of Janice Shober.
Born Oct. 7, 1931, in Connellsville, Pa., he was a son of the late Ralph W. and Mary C. Shober.
Mr. Shober served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956. He received his bachelor's degree in 1958 from Bridgewater College, and his master's from Radford College in 1973.
He was a long-time member of Oak Grove Church of the Brethren, where he served in many areas, including deacon, Sunday school superintendent, member of several committees and commissions, and church treasurer for more than 25 years. He also served the Virlina District Church of the Brethren as treasurer and financial secretary.
Surviving in addition to his wife are one son, James Shober; two daughters, Kathie Robinson and husband Dave, and Suzy Sauerwald and husband Rich; two granddaughters, Paxton and Brooke Sauerwald; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Emil Shober and wife Florence, and Frances Shober, all of Frederick; and many nieces, nephews and grandnieces.
He will also be remembered by special friend, Pat Snowadzky.
Mr. Shober was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Shober.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 26, at Oakey South Chapel Funeral Home, Roanoke, Va., with the Rev. Ed Woodard and the Rev. Jerry Naff, both pastors, officiating.
Interment was in Sherwood Memorial Park.
