Roger Bryant - Class Of 1970 VIEW PROFILE

Roger Ellett Bryant, 66 of Roanoke, died on August 28, 2018 at Berkshire Health and Rehab Center after a long battle with heart, lung and kidney diseases. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde S. Bryant, Sr. and Lois Craft Bryant, and his brother "Clyde Jr." Bryant. Roger graduated from Northside High School where he was on the Varsity Basketball, Football, Track and Cross Country teams. He attended Ferrum College. He worked as a Territory Sales Representative and Division Manager for Philip Morris, U.S.A., and as a Sales Representative for Coca Cola U.S.A. and U.S. Suzuki. He was an Auto Salesman and Limo driver in his later years. Roger refereed high school and college basketball for many years. He loved snow and water skiing, boating, traveling and anything to do with Smith Mountain Lake, the beach, and the Dallas Cowboys. He was able to travel to Japan, Hawaii, and Mexico on company reward trips, and to the Caribbean later in life. Roger is survived by his daughters; Adriane Bryant of South Carolina, Sydney Chocklett (Ryan) of Roanoke, two granddaughters; Sierra Cox and Helen Taylor Cox of Roanoke, his little buddy "Dallas" his Shi-tzu, and his former wives Linda Royal, and Debbie Stover. The family would like to thank Amedisys Home Health and Hospice and Berkshire Health and Rehab for their care. We would also like to thank Roger's neighbors who "kept their eye on him" and the "lake friends" who shared many good times. Special thanks to Roger Ayers and Brian Duncan for their visits and caring gestures through all of the toughest days. There will be an open visitation from 6 to 8 pm at Oakey's Funeral Home in Vinton, Virginia on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at 627 Hardy Road, Vinton, Virginia 24179. There will be a funeral service at a later date at Smith Mountain Lake. Flowers are always appreciated, but if you choose, you may make a donation in Roger's memory to the granddaughter's college fund, or to your local S.P.C.A, or Service dog organization.
