Linda Meador (Cannon) - Class Of 1970 VIEW PROFILE

Linda Meador Cannon, 56, of Roanoke, passed over to Glory on Saturday, March 29, 2008, after a brave five year struggle with cancer. Left to cherish memories of her are her husband of 14 years, Wayne L. Cannon; stepdaughter, Shannon Cannon; her parents, Richard and Annie Bell Meador; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Linda Meador; niece, Mackenzie Meador; nephew, Cameron Meador, all of Roanoke; sister-in-law, Sue Wooldridge and husband, Lewis, of Elliston; and numerous friends. She was a graduate of Northside High School and Roanoke College. Linda was an accountant for Total Action Against Poverty. She was a member of Huntington Court United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. She was also affiliated with the Southwest Virginia Bird Club, where she served as a member of the Board. Linda expressed her appreciation to her family, her TAP colleagues, her HCUMC family and the members of SWVBC for their love and support during her illness. Wayne and family wishes to express their thanks to Dr. William Fintel and Good Samaritan Hospice for their loving care during Linda's illness. Linda suggested that memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106A, Roanoke, Va. 24018. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at Huntington Court United Methodist Church. The Rev. Russell Cheatham will officiate. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Oakey's North Chapel, 540-362-1237.
