Curtis Ross Turner, 48, died suddenly Saturday, January 31st at Raleigh Community Hospital. He was the pastor at Freedom River Community Church. Ross served the Lord with all of his heart, to his last breath and had more fun doing it than anyone we have ever known. His memory and work will continue through the hearts and lives of the many he loved, led and carried to the Lord.
Surviving are his wife, Kathy Turner; son, Eric Turner of Raleigh; daughter, Alisa Turner of Raleigh; brother, Tyler Turner of Roanoke, VA; sisters, Margaret Sue Turner Wright and husband, Barry and Priscilla Turner Gauldin and husband, Dan, all of Roanoke, VA; in-laws; Gerald and Betty Neill, Jerry Neill, Penny Leech, Mary Abbott, Deanna Neill and several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Nascar legend, Curtis M. Turner, in 1970 and his mother, Ann Ross Turner in 2003.
A celebration of his life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, February, 6, 2004 at Grace Community Church, 6561 Meridien Drive, Raleigh, NC. A graveside service will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
Please join the family immediately following the graveside at Grace Community Church for food and fellowship. Please join the family and friends at 7 p.m., Thursday, February 5, 2004 at Grace Community Church for a time of fellowship.
