Daniel G. Fletcher, 61, of Matthews, went to be with the Lord, Friday, October 21, 2016, peacefully, at his home.

He was born June 16, 1955 in Roanoke, Virginia, to the late RJ and Virginia Fletcher.

Dan was an avid reader with a varied interest in numerous subjects. Those that knew him knew they could converse freely on any topic and he exhibited the definition of tact. He was always a positive person and remained so even when he began to battle Parkinson’s.

Those left to cherish his memory include loving wife of 31 years, Christie Vandergrift Fletcher; three sons, Ian, Ben and Luke Fletcher; sister, Fran Darlington (Warren); mother-in-law, Linda Vandergrift; father-in-law, Ronald Vandergrift; three brothers-in-law, Garland, Robert and Andrew Vandergrift and their families.

A service of remembrance will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Heritage Funeral Home, Indian Trail Chapel, 4431 Old Monroe Rd., Indian Trail, NC. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
