Steven Dwaine Dudley, 65, of Roanoke passed away on July 31, 2024 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Steven was the husband of Mary L. Snyder Dudley, who survives, and the son of the late Cecil Dudley and Eleanor Jo Dudley Weaver, who survives. He graduated from Northside High School in Roanoke in 1977. Steve was a master ASE automotive technician. Steve was a Nissan specialty technician at First Team Auto Mall in Roanoke for over half of his more than 40 year working career. He recently retired 5 years ago.

Steve was a devoted husband. Caring and supportive father of 4 (3 daughters, 1 son), and the most loving PawPaw to 7 grandchildren; Steve and Mary's dog, Buddy, meant the world to him. He enjoyed keeping his pool ready for his kids and grandkids to enjoy with him in the summer. Steve was fond of the nature around his home on cool autumn days. He loved sitting by a warm wood burning fire in his fireplace in the winter with his wife Mary. Steve would always be ready to start his vegetable garden. He also loved taking care of his plants around his house and preparing his bird feeders and birdhouses for the birds to enjoy in the spring. He had a great sense of humor all year long that was contagious to everyone around. Steve will be remembered for having a heart willing to help anyone in need.

In addition to his wife and mother, those left to cherish his memory are his three daughters, Christy Lester and husband Jason, Kimberly Hagy and husband Andrew, and Stephanie Dudley and her partner Thomas Trull; his only son, Mathew Dudley and wife Elena; grandchildren, Logan, Madilynn, Maren, Peyton, McKenna, Colton, and Mason; brother, Jeffery Dudley and wife Drema; and sister, Deborah Graham.

The family will receive friends at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem on Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 5:00 until 6:00 pm. A memorial service will follow in the chapel of Lotz Funeral Home at 6:00 pm. A private burial will be held in Sherwood Memorial Park.
