Samuel Robinson - Class Of 1976 VIEW PROFILE

Heaven rejoiced when Samuel Dean Robinson arrived in the early morning hours of February 12, 2025. Left to celebrate the life he shared are his wife of 49 years, Nancy Jones Robinson; son, Robert Andrew (Andy) Robinson (Kelly); daughter, Julie Robinson Clemons (Andy); his grandchildren, Adaline Robinson Harvey (Aaron), Nevaeh-Leigh Veach (Ricky), Zander Veach, Dexter Dodd, Jemma Robinson; his great-grandson, Sylus Stansbury; and his brothers, Richard Robinson (Peggy), Roger Robinson (Janis), Mark Robinson (Karen), and Phil Weeks (Tina).

Sam was loved and adored by his extended family of nieces, nephews, and in-laws. Preceded in death are his parents, Andrew Robinson, Hilda Weeks, and Burley Weeks. Sam lived his life to the fullest. He was a man of strong faith and loved even the simplest of things; sitting out in the warm summer rain, laying on the beach, throwing horseshoes, a good game of cards, hosting friends and family, chatting up and telling tales with his vast circle of friends and even strangers. He was a lifelong Cheesehead and no one enjoyed a good (or even bad) Western more than Sam.

Sam enjoyed his years volunteering for Roanoke County Fire Station #5. In 1984 he was honored with the County’s first Medal of Honor for exemplary service during a lifesaving boating accident rescue.

A family celebration of his life and love will be later in the year.
