Cookie passed on December 18, 2011 after a three year battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig disease). While she was angry at getting a terminal disease with absolutely no hope for recovery, she enjoyed each day as much as possible and rarely complained during her two and half year battle with the disease. We had a wonderful 46 year marriage, three great boys, and 7 grandchildren, all of which which helped to soften her daily health struggles. She never had a serious sick day in her life until the ALS diagnosis at age 66. It certainly brought home to me how fragile life can be and that making the most of every day is critical. I know that she fully enjoyed each day.
