Larry:  I've been watching the Weather Channel and I'm confused as to where the storm actually is right now.  There were tornados this morning, I understand in N. Myrtle. Is that correct.  Ya'll have been getting it all day. How are you doing now, any tornados in your area?

Barbara: Did you stay, did you go?  Were the tornadoes near you?  Hope all is well. Let us know if you can.

Foster:  Thanks for your message.  I have tried to get on your profile page since yesterday and I can't do it. I hope you are able to enjoy your vacation and return to your home just as you left it.  Seems like the last time we had a hurricane you were out west.  I think we are all out of danger now.  For future reference, we won't watch the Weather Channel in the future. They really get off on tropical storm winds and some rain. Thank goodness they didn't send Jim Cantore to our areas, trouble follows him everywhere! Safe travels! K

PS:  Watching the Charleston update, the guy from Weather Channel didn't have much to report on but he found a malfuncting traffic light and did a 15 minute broadcast on that.

Stayed and things went as expected for me.  I am beachside of Hwy.17 so a little concern for storm surge.  Phone went off all Wed. night with tornado warnings and watches so not much sleep.  Wind and rain most of the day with periods of calm.  No flooding in my neighborhood that I could see.  There were tornadoes nearby and utility poles down in areas mostly in Little River.  Power stayed on all day and around 8:15pm it went out.  Heard a transformer had went out and it was back on in a short time.  Appreciate everyones concern and only seems I will be working in the yard picking up small limbs and leaves for awhile. Putting off getting on the scales after all the hurricane snacks I ate yesterday.

God blessed us through the whole thing.  We had several big limbs down, but I can clean that up.  We usually go back to Rock Hill when a hurricane comes, but we decided we would stay and stick it out.  No problems here.  Daniel

Daniel: So glad you and Barbara had minimal inconvenience. There is no place like home!

Our house in Oak Island did very well. There was a small issue with a piece of siding up around the roof line and some leakage into the house on the ceiling. So glad the screens on the porch didn't blow out since we just had them replaced from the last hurricane. I'm wondering about the little oak tree I planted in the front yard in 2006 with acorns found in Southport.  Someone would have told me, I'm sure, if it were down.

I got in from I.O.P. S.C. yesterday from checking our home. I had just bought a new Yamaha gas golf cart  and it was in our garage. I thought it would be under water when I got there.  However, there was not a drop of water in the garage which is under the house. Lucky !  All I saw on the island was leaves and small branches from the trees.

Richy: That was a great surprise!  I think we all escaped this one pretty well, other than the stress of what was to come.

Ya'll, you may have noticed the music has not been playing for a while. Apparently Adobe Flash player has gone away according to Class Creator. I am researching alternatives so be patient.

Richy, doing much better. Been a crazy journey. Broken neck, then got a resistant infection in rehab and then ended up with Stevens-Johnson symdrome.Usually caused by antibiotics. Your skin peels off and has to regrow a new layer.I'm not sure why I am still here.I would like to thank all classmates who prayed and thought about me during my ordeal. Oooooooh,Richy, if you want to know how to grow old gracefully,Do not ask me! LOL. Thanks again for your concern,Rocky

Has anyone else been enjoying the PBS documentary on Country Music by Ken Burns.  I can't stop watching it.  I am a late bloomer to country music but have enjoyed a lot of it since the 1980's.  The era of the 70's produced a lot of budding country performers, but back then they were not so readily welcomed into the traditional genre because they were "hippies" like the Byrds and Bob Dylan.  Roseanne Cash was highlighted today and I had forgotten her song 7-Year Ache was one of my favorites in the early 80's. What are some of your favorites?
