Message from George Crow on Friday, November 29, 2024:
Thanks to Susan (Wall) Bates and Jerry (Estes) Alexander for the sad info that classmate Laurena (Hutto) Taylor was taken from us the day before Thanksgiving. I have no final service details yet but found the following under her profile on our class website. Laurena was definitely a woman of great spirit and gusto. And losing a husband and son during her life journey certainly accentuated the strength that was hers. Here's Laurena’s own words from our website:
Fast becoming one of those Colorado women living off-grid on top of a beautiful 8,600 foot above sea level, Rocky Mountain home. Lots of wildlife on 40 acres with front porch view of Sangre de Cristo snow capped mountains and beautiful wildflower covered valley. Snow was beautiful all winter, and now we are in full spring with baby Mule Deer gracing my land for company. Mama deer had twins right behind my office window yesterday. Once in a lifetime opportunity to live in this serene peaceful small mountain town. Working virtual remote from home for Allstate Catastrophe Team. Since it feels like vacation here every day, guess I will just keep working. Staying busy, active on PRCA Rodeo Committee here, and Rock Mountain Elk Federation. Loving it. My husband and son would be proud of me making it on my own out West. Truly God's Country out here. Met my former cowboy/saddle bronc, bull riding husband riding horses and he stole my heart like a bandit. We had a great ride together and I will miss my partner, my friend and my travel companion on all our adventures.

Oh Laurena you had a great free spirit, friendly warm smile and just a delight
to be around. Rest in peace & you are now joined with your bull-riding husband
and son. 🙏

So sad to hear about Laurena. I remember all the fun times we had in Mrs. Walker's business class. It is comforting to know she is with her family again.
