IN MEMORY

Gayle Russell (Zeola)

Message yesterday January 2nd from Sammy Russell Adams. Sad news to share about our classmate, Gayle. Gayle's husband, John, passed away earlier last year from cancer.

I wanted to notify our classmates that Gayle Russell Zeola passed away today after a brief illness. Gayle and I were first cousins. She had a stroke earlier this week and continued to decline. I know her family would appreciate our prayers. I don’t have any other details at this time. I’ll pass along additional info when it’s available.

I got to know Gayle when she and John served on our 50th Reunion Committee. They worked tirelessly to make sure all was organized. I remember they helped with the tedious chore of inserting the Bearcat logos into the give a way key chains and manned the memorabilia table the night of the reunion. It was following our reunion that John learned he had cancer. It was a tough time for both he and Gayle as he underwent treatments traveling and staying at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas. Now we say good bye to Gayle. Russell and I send condolences to their family.
