Sally Hill Kauffmann, 70, resident of Avid Road, wife of Douglas McMurray Kauffmann, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Self Regional Healthcare.
Born September 20, 1953, in Spartanburg, SC, she was a daughter of the late Ruth Thomason Jones and Roscoe Norris Hill. She was a 1971 graduate of Rock Hill High School, a 1974 graduate of Lander College, earning a Master in Education in 1978 from Southern Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Sally was the Minister of Music at McCormick First Baptist Church from 1985-1991 and taught music at McCormick Elementary School and McCormick Middle School for over 9 years. She was also the Minister of Education and Music at Connie Maxwell Baptist Church from 1995-2016.
She was a member of Connie Maxwell Baptist Church, Greenwood Rotary Club, and Greenwood Women’s Care. She was a board member of Greenwood Food Bank, Greenwood Housing and Community Development, and the Greenwood County Community Remembrance Project.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 47 years are two daughters, Anna Ruth Kauffmann (Brent Edward Germain) of Greenville and Christina Kauffmann Isenhower (Matthew David) of Columbia; two grandsons, Luke Kauffmann Germain, and Jacob Kauffmann Isenhower; and a brother, Robert Norris Hill (Martha) of Lexington.
Funeral services will be at 3 PM Sunday (June 16) at Connie Maxwell Baptist Church with Rev. Douglas Kauffmann, Rev. Ed Gidewall, Rev. Scott Smith, and Dr. Danny Nicholson officiating.
Burial will follow at Connie Maxwell Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church from 2-3 PM Sunday afternoon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Connie Maxwell Healing Center, PO Box 1178 Greenwood, SC 29648.

Note:  Per Susan Hunter Pelt, "Sally suffered a stroke in February. She was able to come home in mid April.  She had two strokes Tuesday and had brain bleeds. She passed last night[June 12]."
