Heyward Lewis Harrison
Heyward Harrison was born November 24, 1951 Chester County, South Carolina., a son of Hazel L. Harrison and the late Wade Davis. He departed from this earthly life on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina.
He was educated in the Chester County public schools and graduated from Rock Hill High School in 1971. After high school, he joined the United States Air Force and honorably served his country until 1975. He spent 15 years working with CaroKnit Textile Industries in Jefferson, South Carolina and seven years with Highland Industries in Cheraw, South Carolina. On August 09, 2007, he married the love of his life, the former Pauline Richardson.
He enjoyed being with his family, going fishing, watching sports, and reaching out to help other people without regard to who they were or what they had to give in return. “Bread”, as he was known to many, was a loving and kind person. He was a devoted husband, the “heart and soul” of a father, uncle, and friend. His loss is one that can never be replaced in our hearts. We will forever miss you Uncle” Big Boy”. One of his sisters, Gail L. Harrison preceded him in death.
Surviving to cherish the wonderful memories of Heyward Lewis Harrison include his wife, Pauline Richardson Harrison; his daughter, Camille D. Harrison; his son, Michael D. Harrison; his step-daughters, Dierdre Richardson and Shantia Richardson; a step-son, Claude Richardson; three brothers, William H. Harrison, Zim F. Harrison and Micxhael Harrison; his sister, Marian Y. Harrison; his grandchildren, Kitani Dunlap, Shyan Richardson and Michael Richardson and a host of great aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and very dear friends.
