The basketball coach at Rock Hill's Northwestern High School, Lindberg Moody, died in a Chester hospital late Wednesday (June 25, 1980) after being injured in an auto accident.
Moody played basketball for four years at South Carolina State, where he graduated in 1962. He played professionally one year for the NBA's Detroit Pistons and became Northwestern High School's coach when the school opened in 1971, coaching and teaching at Rock Hill High School before that time. Moody is survived by his widow Bessie, son Lindberg, Jr., and two daughters, Katrina and Leah.
