John Eugene "Gene" McAliley Sr.

Mr. John Eugene "Gene" McAliley, Sr., 69, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2016 at his home.

Services for Gene will be 3:00 PM, Monday, June 6, 2016 at Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church, 421 Oakland Ave., Rock Hill. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. 

Gene was a born in Charlotte, NC and the son of the late James Patterson McAliley and the late Jessie Cloud McAliley. He was a long-time member of Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church, where he previously served as Deacon and Elder and was instrumental in the major renovations of the sanctuary and the Activities Center. He received a BS in Chemical Engineering from Clemson University and his Masters of Engineering from The University of South Carolina. He was a licensed Professional Engineer, a member of the AIChE and the owner of KHEM Engineers, Inc. He was formerly employed by Westvaco, Celanese, and BASF. 

Gene is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda Golson McAliley of Rock Hill; his sons, John E. McAliley, Jr. (Jennifer) of Fort Mill and James H. McAliley (Ilke) of Rock Hill; his daughter, Elizabeth McAliley White (Mike) of Black Mountain, NC; his brother, James P. McAliley, Jr of Summerville, SC; his sister, Patsy McAliley Hatcher of North Augusta, SC; and his five grandchildren, Isabella & Olivia White and Jackson, Parker & Lucy McAliley.
