Lillian Dickert (Gainey)

Mrs. Lil Dickert Gainey,47, of 1505 Stonehill Place, Rock Hill,SC, died Saturday Nov. 11, 1995 at Piedmont Medical Center.

She was born in Rock Hill, SC on November 20, 1947, and graduated from Winthrop Training School and Winthrop College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in French and a Masters of Arts in Teaching degree.  She taught French at Fort Mill High School for 21 years.  

Mrs. Gainey was an Elder at First Presbyterian Church where she taught the preschool Sunday school classes.  She was also a member of the Rock Hill Music Club, sponsor of the Fort Mill High School French Club and the J.V. Cheerleading Squad, and coordinator of the annual Festival at her school. 

Survivors include her husband, C. Eddie Gainey,Jr,; a daughter. Kelly Elizabeth Gainey; a son, Matthew Edward Gainey, all of Rock Hill; her parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. C.E.Gainey of Rock Hill; four sisters, Nina Skienar of Baltimore, MD, Sarah Carlisle of Tega Cay, Louise Cooper of Boone, NC, and Jane Blackmon of Rock Hill; one brother, Les Dickert of Rock Hill; an aunt, Miss Georgia Dickert of Clinton; and many nieces and nephews.
