Robert Kessner

Robert Dennis Kessner, 62, of Rock Springs passed away Oct.30, 2008.

A lifelong resident of Rock Springs, Kessner passed away unexpectedly while hunting.

He was born Dec. 14, 1945, the son of the late Forrest Ogden and Blanche Edna Haggerty Kessner,

Kessner attended school in Rock springs and graduated from Rock Springs High School with the Class of 1964.

He also attended Western Wyoming College and graduated with an associates degree.

He served in the United States Marine Corps from Jan. 12, 1966 to Jan 11, 1968 during the Vietnam War.

Kessner married Norma Marie Marcy in Rock Springs on June 6, 1970, and she preceded him in death in Rock Springs on March 9, 1999.

He worked as a plant foreman for FMC Corporation for 36 years.

Kessner was a member of the American Legion Archie Hay Post 24 and the Elks BPO Lodge No. 624.

His interests indcluded hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Gene J. Kessner of Casper and Steven J Kessner of Rock Springs; one daughter Erica Youngerman and husband Derrick of Rock Springs; three grandchildren, Kaitlyn Kessner, Caiden Youngerman and Ashlyn Youngerman.
