David "Squeak" Long, 53, of Rockford, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2017, in OSF St. Anthony, after a 9 month battle with cancer. He was born July 11, 1963, in Rockford; the son of Conrad and Betty (Dobler) Long. David attended Jefferson High School and graduated from East High School. "Squeak" was an avid Harley rider and wonderful and loving man. In his earlier years, Dave enjoyed racing at Rockford Speedway. David was an organ donor. He is survived by his 3 daughters, Jade (Cort Dumbris) Long of Belleview, Florida, Nacita (Rick) Allcock of Paducah, Kentucky and Kadie Long of Rockford, Illinois; 2 step-daughters, Christy (Jason Hargraves) DeMunn of Loves Park, and Karen (Jon) Schmarje of Genoa, Illinois; brother, Alan "A.J." (Julie) Long of Machesney Park, Illinois; father, Conrad Long, aunt, Barbara McNary; and 10 grandchildren. Predeceased by his mother, Betty Long.
