McKnight, Mark J. passed away on December 14, 2016 at his home in Tampa, FL after a courageous battle with cancer. Mark grew up working in his family rock quarry business in Rockford, IL, but found his natural calling and love in selling real estate over the last 26 years. He was always a top producer, even owning his own company of McKnight & Howard Realtors, and Tampa Bay Real Estate.com, Inc. He enjoyed rehabbing homes too. Because of his love of the water and warmer weather, he moved his family to Tampa, FL in 2003. He always enjoyed taking clients, family, and friends boating. He had an addiction to boats, as over the years he owned 43 different boats. AKA, the Fun Counselor, he always lit up the room, and was the life of the party. His smile and enthusiasm were contagious. He touted himself as the "arm wrestling champion of the world". He loved to work out, dance, and sing karaoke too. After being diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer in January, 2016, he still managed to stay positive and strong. He was able to complete a bucket list rv trip around our beautiful country to see family and friends, the last days of his life. He took his last peaceful breath in his home surrounded by his wife, Dawn, and children, Logan, Brandon, Brianna, and their dog Honey. He is survived by his parents, James and Joyce McKnight, sisters, Louise Yancy and Sue McKnight, brother, Carl(Patti), numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends. Preceded in death by his sister Kathy.
