He was a graduate of East High School and was an Army Veteran. James was a member of Centennial United Methodist Church. James is survived by a sister Carol Dernberger, and brothers Charles (Kim) and Ken (Jeanne). He is also survived by a niece Paige Whitmore and nephews Steven, Jonathan and Michael Whitmore. Predeceased by his parents.
