SHIRWAYNE B. SMITH, 50 ROCKFORD - Shirwayne B. Smith, 50, lifelong Rockford resident died Friday, May 24, 2013, in SwedishAmerican Hospital. Born February 3, 1963, daughter of Roy and Florence Stormont. Attended East High School and married Frank E. Smith on June 27, 1986. She had formerly been employed by Farm & Fleet for several years and was presently employed by the Rockford School District at McIntosh School. She was a faithful member of Lincolnwood Baptist Church. Shirwayne would light up a room when she entered it and had a heart bigger than life. She was a great cook and was especially known for being one of the best "one-liners" in town. One of her greatest achievements, however, was being the 6 year winner of a difficult, personal battle. Survivors include her husband, Frank; daughters, Nicole and Megan Smith; 2 sisters-in-law; 2 brothers-in-law; several nieces and nephews, cousins and good friends. She was devoted to her dog, Bella who brought her much enjoyment. The family would like to especially thank Jason Martin, Blake Pitney, David and Elizabeth Mullen and the entire Mullen family, Pastor Herman and Ann Brown and Shirwayne's Lincolnwood Baptist Church family. Predeceased by her parents.
