I have a short story about Bill Sweeney. In the late 1970s I was new out of college and worked as a field engineer for Woodward Governor. I traveled a lot to remote places working on hydroelectric turbine controls. Summer of 1978, I worked a couple weeks in Northwest Territories of Canada at powerhouses north of Yellowknife. Very remote with no roads and they flew me to work on a float plane. When I finished my assignment, the power company flew me to Yellowknife airport where I needed to wait for a commercial flight from Edmonton. The terminal was just one room with benches. I had a couple hours so just put my feet up on my suitcase and read a book. When the 727 from Edmonton arrived about 15 people got off the plane. Two were Bill Sweeney and Rick Youman (Guilford) on their way to backpack the Yukon for adventure.

Small world. They were quite surprised to see me just hanging out at the edge of the world in Yellowknife when they arrived. We had some time so went to a bar across the street and had a beer. I was hoping to catch up again with Bill at this reunion but was sad to see that he has passed. RIP.
