
Mrs. Christi Carver Mooney, age 45, of Rome, passed away on Friday evening, Sept. 4, 2015, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Christi was born in Rome, Georgia on August 3, 1970, daughter of Lilla Jo McAbee Carver and the late Maxwell Jennings Carver. She was a member of the Sunnyside Baptist Church. Christi was a perfect example of love and showed that in the way she treated everyone from her family to strangers on the street.
From an early age, Christi wanted to be a teacher and was able to pursue that after graduating from Berry College. Christi was a Kindergarten teacher at Glenwood Primary School for over 20 years and touched the lives of countless children. She loved each child unconditionally. Christi also helped to mentor many future teachers that did their student teaching under her.
Survivors include her husband of 24 years, John Christopher Mooney, to whom she was married on August 10, 1991; a daughter that she adored, Laurel Anne Mooney; her mother, Jo Carver, Rome; a sister, April Carver Gunning and her husband, John, Ballground; two brothers, Dewayne Carver and his wife, Brenda, Rome, and Johnny Carver and his wife, Denise, Rome; her mother-in-law, Beth Barton, Rome; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, with the Rev. Cheyenne Russell officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery.
