David G. Benhart, age 66, of Rock Falls, died Saturday, February 18, 2023 at his home.

David was born November 24, 1956 in Elgin, IL the son of Gilbert and Roberta (Cluts) Benhart. He was employed as a mailman for 36 years in Chicago, Rock Falls, and Sterling. He enjoyed carving wood sculptures, bowling and fishing. David was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Rock Falls.

He is survived by his two daughters, Danielle (Ryan) Balsley of Sterling and Deena (Kelly) Johnson of Bloomington; one sister, Diane (Roger) Stratton of Schaumburg; one brother, Dale Benhart of West Chicago; seven grandchildren, Kylie, Ethan, Noah, Theo, Emerson, Rexlynn, and Hayden; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Donna Haney; and one brother, Daniel Benhart.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 9:30 – 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Rock Falls. The funeral will follow at 11:00 AM with Reverend Daniel Behmlander officiating.

A memorial has been established to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
