Richard Canova a member of the Lake Park High School Social Studies Department, passed away on July 26, 2023.  Services are on Monday, July 31, 2023 at Grove Memorial Chapel in Elk Grove Village.  9:30a - 10a Visitation, followed by Chapel Service and procession to the Memory Gardens in Arlington Heights

"Caz"  was one of the school's most absolutely unique faculty and will be memorable to anyone who was in the senior year government class "Problem of Democracy".  No one was a passive member of his class.  Along with the legendary late Norbert Wesolowski, Caz coached baseball for many years and is responsible for innumerable kids experiencing success in, as well as, out of the classroom.  He was also a sponsor of senior classes, not an easy task during the many years.

After 37 years at Lake Park, caz retired in 2001.  He could often be found holding court at the horse-racing tracks he so enjoyed!
