Lisa Aline Smith was a bright and loving soul, and a very free spirit.  She brought life, love and laughter to the family and friends who were blessed to know her.  She worked hard and had a lot of dreams and goals.  For those who don't know, she was murdered by someone who was looking to rob her during a summer college course in Berkeley.  Online obits were not common in 1997, so I'm linking the news story regarding her killer's sentencing.  It does give me a little comfort and satisfaction to know that she fought back and provided the evidence needed to catch her killer and save others from similar assaults at his hands.  However, I prefer to remember Lisa's life, not the way she died.
