COLRAIN, MA - Moriah Marston, nee Gail Luria, passed away peacefully at her home on March 24, 2015 surrounded by loving family and friends, after a heartbreaking battle with breast cancer.
She was born in New York City on Jan. 21, 1949, the daughter of Ann Geisler and Irving M. Luria, Esq.
She graduated from Ithaca College with a BS in Sociology in June 1970 and moved to Manhattan, where she got a secretarial job working at Alcoholics Anonymous.
Within a few years, tired of city living and wanting to do more to help people, Moriah moved back to Ithaca for a while and from there to Watertown, MA, in 1983 in order to enroll in the Interface Training Program for Holistic Health. She completed the program in 1984 with certification in psychology and, still exploring possibilities, in 1985 began what would become a life-long mission as a channel for Tibetan Ascended Master Djwhal Khul, known as "the Great Psychologist" among the masters for his metaphysical teachings transmitted to Alice Bailey during the last century.
Later that year, after moving to western Massachusetts, she met and fell in love with Stevens "Zayne" Marston and began channeling the Tibetan at their home in Montague, Mass., for small groups. Moriah and Zayne married in April 1992 and moved to Shelburne Falls in June 1994, where the school continued to grow, enhanced by Zayne's Qi Gong classes.
The Marstons relocated to Colrain in February 2008, and Moriah's career as a therapist, a channel and an author thrived, as did the couple's mutual commitment to building community and group consciousness.
With her passing, Moriah leaves behind her adored husband, Zayne, stepson Oliver Marston and beloved brother, Michael Luria and his wife, Laurie, as well as her longtime soul sisters, Nancy Howe and Ellen Eller; soul brother, Soldann, Dr. Stanley Greenberg, soul daughter, Eleni Yalanis, and countless other cherished friends and students.
