David was born on December 27th, 1954 to Alzena and George Horne, in Camden, New Jersey. His family moved to Roslyn, New York. He received his formal education at Roslyn High School; where he received the nickname “Honey D”. He played basketball and was a star player on the football team. David graduated in 1973 and moved on to Adelphi University. Not only did he enjoy sports, but he was also very social. He loved to eat and loved to dance; he was always the life of the party. In fact, whenever he went to a wedding reception and noticed an empty seat or a missing guest, he would order a dinner as if it were for the other person, but really have an extra dinner for himself. He was always a jokester and always outgoing.
