Randy Burr passed away in May 1981 due to the head injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident.
I can remember being in my dorm room when Mike called and thinking the whole time - Mikes going to stop and say I was only kidding. I was so mad at Randy our senior year for not going to college and I was madder now that somehow if he had gone to college he wouldnt have been on the bike.
My fondest memory was Thanksgiving weekend our senior year. The friday after he and I got up and drove to Daytona and ended up sleeping in the car on the beach thought we argued for hours whether we could really sleep on the beach. Somehow the beach patrol didnt run us off till 630 am and so we drove back to Roswell. So really all we did was drive 7 hours to the beach and drive back but I really finally connected to him. In school we would always be "best friends" 1 week and always get in a fight and not talk for 3 weeks.

I'll never forget Randy reading a poem aloud in English class about a gentleman who was a gentle man. Had he lived he would have been such a man...
