East Alton—Dwight A. McGrew, 66, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2017 at his home.
 
Born June 16, 1951 in Wood River, he was a son of Clayton A. McGrew and Mary L. (Busse) McGrew Lloyd.
He married Diana I. (Harvell) Prather Dec. 22, 1986 in East Alton.
A U.S. Army veteran, he worked as a sheet metal aircraft riveter for Boeing, retiring in 2015 after 30 years. He loved planes and cars, particularly his Mustang.  He also collected knives and enjoyed the outdoors and listening to oldies music. 
He was simply a good man, and he’ll be missed by his wife, Diana, his stepchildren, Cary Prather of Wood River, Kirk (Stacy) Prather of Alton, and Jennifer (Rob) Hunter of Montana; his grandchildren, Sean Prather, Noah and Dakota Prather, Sarah Prather, Julia (Jesse) Mathis, and Tate, Sam and Kelsey Hunter; a great grandson, Owen Mathis; a brother, Michael (Carol) Hodge of Bridgeton, MO; one aunt, Jesse Busse of Cottage Hills; two nephews, Tom (Megan) McGrew of RI and Eric (Leitha) McGrew of KY and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kenneth E. McGrew.
Memorial visitation will be at Paynic Home for Funerals on Monday, July 17 from 10 a.m. until services begin at 11 a.m.
Burial will be at a later date.
