Charles "Rod" Taylor, 60, formerly of East Alton, died suddenly at 1:40 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, in Albuquerque, N. M.

Rod was born Dec. 14, 1951.

Rod is survived by his wife of six years, Shari Taylor; four stepsons, Kenny Staggs (Rachel) and Stacey Brown, both of Bethalto, Christopher Staggs and Patrick Brown, both of Wood River, a son, Alex Taylor of Bethalto; five stepgrandchildren, Briahna Staggs, Mckenzie Staggs, Kennedi Staggs, Christopher Staggs Jr. and Tabitha Staggs; and two sisters, Vaunda Perkins (Jim) of Charlottesville, Va., and Cindi Schmutzler of St. Charles, Mo.

Pursuant to his wishes, he has been cremated.
